Share the Warmth Annual Coat Drive
HELP US KEEP OUR COMMUNITY WARM FOR THE COLD SEASON
The Share the Warmth Coat Drive has been a warm partnership between WWMT – News 3 and The Salvation Army here in Kalamazoo County for many years. The event asks for both new and gently used coats to be donated at several locations throughout the community. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of coats have been given to people in need to keep them warm through the chilly fall and very cold Michigan winters. These coats meet one of the most basic needs of the people who turn to The Salvation Army for help. Last year, almost 1,300 coats were distributed to needy children, adults and families.

Cash Donations will be Accepted: Checks should be made out to The Salvation Army – Kalamazoo and mailed to 1700 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
Metro Toyota and area Toyota Dealers will be helping us bring more attention to this important need this year.
Portage Cleaners & Laundry has offered to clean coats that need a little freshening up.
Bright Financial Advisors, Inc. has teamed up with The Salvation Army to assist in purchasing a significant number of coats for our kids.
You may donate a coat by visiting one of several locations including WWMT – News 3, The Salvation Army Thrift Store, The Salvation Army Corps at 1700 S. Burdick Street, all Educational Community Credit Union locations, Portage Cleaners in Portage and Comstock, Metro Toyota and several other sites. A complete list can be found at WWMT.com and at the bottom of this post. The Coat Drive will run from October 1 thru November 2nd. The coat distribution will take place on November 8th and 9th. Please consider donating a new or gently used coat for the season and may God bless you for joining with The Salvation Army to keep our kids and families warm this fall and winter season.
