Veterans Stand Down 2011

On October 6, 2011 Veterans from around the state visited The Salvation Army – Kalamazoo Community Center to participate in the Veterans Stand Down. This marks the 7th year for The Salvation Army Kalamazoo Corps to host the Stand Down in the community and we are honored to support such a moving event. Many service providers and volunteers participated to offer their support of our men and women in the armed forces. Major John Mowers was asked to offer the benediction. In addition, several of the veterans offered their many thanks to those that have helped them. A good number of the veterans experience homelessness and it is the hope of this event to end poverty and homelessness among veterans everywhere. Please continue to pray for our service men and women that have served and continue to serve our country in the military. Click here to view the Kalamazoo Gazette’s article on Mlive.com.
