Homeless Veterans Stand Down 2012
On September 28th, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., veterans from around the state are invited once again to The Salvation Army – Kalamazoo Community Center, located at 1700 S. Burdick St., to participate in the Kalamazoo County Homeless Veterans Stand Down. This marks the 8th year for The Salvation Army Kalamazoo Corps to host the Stand Down and we are honored to support this important veterans event. Many service providers and volunteers participate to show their support of our men and women in the armed forces by offering free haircuts, food, clothing, medical screening, Vet to Vet peer support, Flu shots and much more . A good number of our veterans experience homelessness and it is the hope of this annual event to end poverty and homelessness among veterans everywhere. Please continue to pray for our service men and women that have served and continue to serve our country in the military.
