WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

HOME LEAGUE

Women’s Ministries provide a program of meetings and other activities based on the fourfold aim of the organization, the Home League, which was inaugurated in 1907.  Those aims are worship, education, fellowship and service.  The motto of the Home League is, “I will live a pure life in my house.” (Psalm 101:2 Good News Bible)

The Mission of Women’s Ministries is to bring women into a knowledge of Jesus Christ; encourage their full potential in influencing family, friends and community; equip them for growth in personal understanding and life skills; address issues, which affect women and their families in the world.

The Kalamazoo Women’s Ministries meets on Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. for a variety of programs, devotions and refreshments.  All women are invited and membership is not limited to Salvationists.

DIVINE DESIGN

Women meet monthly for food and fellowship on the fourth Saturday of each month at 5 p.m. for DIVINE DESIGN (a women’s outreach group).  A variety of subjects pertaining to women are covered each month, such as healthy living, recycling projects, low budget cleaning, Pinterest ideas and space saving techniques.  All women are invited to attend.  Please RSVP by calling 344-6119 at least 24 hours in advance, since a “make & take” project are always included each month.

WOMEN’S CAMP

Each year the women pack up and travel to Little Pine Island Camp in Comstock, MI, for the annual Women’s Camp.  It is a weekend filled with inspiring singing, motivational messages, Bible Study, recreation and great food and fellowship.  The cost for the weekend is minimal, and reservations can be made by calling the Salvation Army office at 344-6119.

COMMUNITY CARE MINISTRY

The Community Care Ministry (CCM) began in 1892 in Canada. Today CCM is primarily conducted through the membership of The Salvation Army local church.   It is a ministry that engages all ages to respond to the spiritual and social needs of the community.  Determined by the local situation, the size of the membership and the skill of its members, the Community Care Ministry endeavors to follow Christ’s example to care for those in need out in the community.   Activities include visits to Senior Centers and Senior Housing organizations, home visits to shut-ins, etc.

“In as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
